Worship

Our Sunday gatherings are simple and are centered on three things: worship through song, corporate prayer, and the preaching of the Word. As we gather, our aim is to worship God as both individuals and the collective body of believers. The songs we sing are theologically rich and true and the word proclaimed is through expository preaching.

Preaching

In its simplest form, “expository preaching is preaching in which the main point of the biblical text being considered becomes the main point of the sermon being preached.” — Mark Dever

At Bethel, we believe the Word of God (the Bible) is central to all we do, think, sing, and say – especially within our Sunday morning gatherings. As the Word is preached, we look at the text in its correct context, address each verse and line, and bring it to relevancy into our modern era. By preaching in this way, the Word drives the central point of the author’s intent and keeps God’s church (us) under his authority.

In using this method to preach, the proclaimed Word is kept consistent with the original message, theologically aligned, and covers a wide variety of topics regarding God, the Gospel, the culture, and Christian living. The Word allows us to know who God is, what he has done for us and how the Gospel is revealed through Christ Jesus. The ministry of preaching is essential for the life of the Christian and the Bible is the primary means by which we can know God.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.  For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. (2 Timothy 3:16-4:4)

Children

During our time of worship, we offer both nursery and classes for children Pre-K – 5th grade. You can check your child(ren) in at our KIDS CHECK table located to the right of the main worship center doors beginning at 9:45 am. Our nursery and kid’s workers/volunteers are background-checked and have been properly trained.
